Does Easycomp work on Windows 7?

Yes. Easycomp has been tried & tested and will operate on Windows 7. Easycomp is also compatible with earlier operating systems including Windows 98, 2000, ME, XP & Vista.

Can I manually edit the results?

No. One of the key features of Easycomp is that the results cannot be manually manipulated.

I want to upload the results from yesterday’s comp to the website, but when I go into Results, Upload it won’t let me open the folder where my results are stored. Why?

You must first open the Event by using File, Open Event… and select yesterday’s event from the list. Then when you go to Results, Upload you will see all your results. This is intentional behaviour to prevent users from uploading the results of Disco comps to the website. By forcing the user to open the event first, Easycomp can check if the event was a Disco one, and if so, it will prevent the upload.

Why does my printer consistently fail to print the first result sheet of the day, but print everything perfectly after that?

This strange occurence has been reported when using an HP Laserjet 1020 printer under Windows Vista, and the cause is still unknown. However, your result sheet has not been lost because Easycomp has saved it as usual. If you go to Results, View, you can double-click on the sheet and print it again from Acrobat Reader.

When I print results, I get a big Adobe Acrobat window on the screen, which covers the Easycomp screen, and I have to close it manually before I can carry on using Easycomp. Is there any way round this?

This problem has been fixed on Easycomp Version 2.0 and later, but if you are running an earlier version there is a work-around. When the Adobe Acrobat window appears, don’t close it, but grab its sides and make it very small, then move it into a corner away from the Easycomp screen. It won’t get in the way any more.

When I was printing a results sheet, my printer had a paper jam / ran out of toner / chewed up the paper / had coffee spilled over it etc. Is there any way to print another copy or do I have to enter all the marks again?

There is no need to enter all the marks again. Easycomp saves all the results sheets so that you print them again if you want to. Simply go to Results, View, double-click on the result sheet that you want and print it again from Acrobat Reader. Incidentally, you can also archive old results by copying the PDF files onto a USB memory stick or CD..

My disk drive is getting full of old events and results. How can I get rid of them?

Go to File, Delete Event, and select the events that you no longer want. Easycomp will delete the event file, results folder and all its PDF result files.
